da stake casino: Manchester United are potentially looking at selling David De Gea in the summer and are weighing up Dean Henderson as a possible replacement, via Goal. Naturally, this has caused a divide amongst the Red Devils fan base, with some arguing it’s time for the erratic goalkeeper to leave the club, whilst others insist De Gea is still the right man for the job.
da dobrowin: The Spaniard has committed several high profile blunders this season, including the latest mistake against Everton last weekend which was very similar to the infamous mistake made by Liverpool flop Loris Karius during the 2018 Champions League final. According to the official Premier League website, De Gea has made 3 errors leading to goals, saved 72 shots and kept only 7 clean sheets in 28 appearances.
United academy product Henderson is currently on loan to Sheffield United and is enjoying a stellar first season in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has made 26 appearances for The Blades, making 66 saves and keeping 9 clean sheets (Premier League).
De Gea signed a new contract back in September 2019, reportedly worth £375,000 a week and keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2023 (via SportRAC). The Spanish international will undoubtedly demand high wages given his professional record and it remains to be seen whether any club will be able to foot the bill.
Plenty of Red Devils fans have waded into the debate and here are just some of the best reactions…
