da dobrowin: Tottenham have several issues on the pitch but the last week showed that a defensive improvement is the biggest priority on the agenda.
Mauricio Pochettino was dealt a further blow with the injury to Hugo Lloris in last Saturday’s defeat and after conceding ten times in two matches there is a lot of room for improvement, with right-back one position in major need of addressing.
So far this season Spurs have used four different players since selling Kieran Tripper in the summer, and it appears the Argentine is yet to decide on his preferred option.
Moussa Sissoko started against Brighton but looked uncomfortable throughout, earning a rating of just four out of ten from Football London.

The Frenchman was forced to play out of position due to the absence of the suspended Serge Aurier, but the former PSG man has looked equally underwhelming this term, getting sent off against Southampton which could have cost his team, as well as being out of position for more than one Bayern Munich goal last week.
Another who has featured on the right is Davinson Sanchez. He did an adequate job against Arsenal but lacks the dribbling and crossing ability to provide a threat going forward, and therefore there is only one solution available to Pochettino currently.
That is Kyle Walker-Peters.
He may be young and inexperienced but he has already offered more than any of the above, and can consider himself unlucky to be excluded from the squad after coming back from injury.
Pochettino hasn’t included the 22-year-old in any of the matchday squads against Leicester, Southampton, Bayern Munich or Brighton, and given Spurs lost three out of those four it is time for the 5 foot 9 right-back to be recalled.
Last season he made three assists in only six league matches and this campaign has used the ball effectively too, with 88% pass accuracy and 0.7 key passes per game.
He is also a much better option to have from a defensive perspective, with 2.3 tackles per game showing a determined nature that Tottenham have lacked recently.
A regular run in the side and faith from his manager could allow him to improve even further on those stats and bring an attacking threat to Tottenham’s right that has been missing since Trippier departed.
He has also achieved a better average of successful dribbles per game than Aurier, with 1.7 compared to 0.7, and therefore the only reason for his omission must be Pochettino’s desire to protect his confidence from taking a knock in what is a difficult period for Spurs.
