Mauricio Pochettino deserves a lot of credit for what he has achieved at the club, and there is no doubting that Tottenham can go the whole distance next year.

Instead, as they have done already, they will look to go out and buy talent that offers them something different, rather than something better.
The main criticism that can be bestowed upon the side is that they ran out of juice towards the end of the year, and so a bit more squad depth would do the side wonders.

Goalkeeper – Hugo Lloris
Starting off with an obvious one – it is absolutely essential that the side hold on to Hugo Lloris.
Without doubt one of the best goalkeepers in world football, Lloris has improved year on year over the past few seasons, and that is a pattern that will no doubt continue going into the 2016/17 season.
Top European clubs have reportedly been sniffing around the Frenchman this summer, but the side have thankfully managed to hold on to him thus far.
Offering excellent leadership alongside impeccable goalkeeping, there is no better player to be the man between the sticks for this Tottenham side next year.
Defence – Walker, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Danny Rose
Tottenham’s defensive line will no doubt remain unchanged going into the 2016/17 season, and with good reason.
Whilst the Tottenham attack was given much of the credit last year, Tottenham’s side was definitely built from the back, preventing even the best Premier League forwards from getting a sniff.
Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld formed an unstoppable partnership last year, and they will look to repeat that going into next season.
Similarly Danny Rose and Kyle Walker proved last season that they can hang with the best, and they will no doubt to kick on and prove their doubters wrong once again next season

Defensive Midfield – Dier, Dembele/Wanyama
The first potential change in the Tottenham line up comes in the midfield.
Eric Dier and Moussa Dembele formed an unlikely partnership last season, offering an expert blend of tacking and passing, allowing the perfect transition from attack to defense in that Tottenham midfield.
They will no doubt go into next season as the primary midfielders, having earnt their place in the side last season
The signing of Victor Wanyama is an interesting one, and it will definitely be something to keep an eye on going into next season. His expert defensive ability will be invaluable to the side next year, and will allow Pochettino to adjust his midfield depending on the side that he is facing.
Expect Dier and Dembele to feature against the majority of sides in the Premier League, but Victor Wanyama will almost certainly get a run out when Tottenham are under the cosh and need a bit of defensive stability added to their game.
Attacking Midfield – Lamela, Alli, Eriksen
More familiarity returns in the attack, with the excellent trio of Erik Lamela, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen leading the Tottenham midfield.
Erik Lamela offers direct play and pace down the right hand side, which is contrasted excellently with the dribbling and passing ability provided by Christian Eriksen.
Dele Alli will of course play at the tip of the midfield triangle, allowing him to drive at opposition defences and provide for the rest of his attacking team mates.
This part of the Tottenham midfield was a joy to watch last year, and we expect more of the same next season.
Striker – Kane/Janssen
This will be a difficult decision for Mauriccio Pochetino on the opening day of the season.
Everyone knows how good Harry Kane is, having won the Premier League Golden Boot last season. His goals shot Tottenham right up the table, and he will no doubt continue that next season.
His performances with England at the European Championship have caused some to doubt his ability however, with many media outlets suggesting that he has been burnt out after playing so much last season.
Step in Vincent Janssen, who is reportedly set to join the club over the coming days. The AZ striker won the golden boot in the Dutch league last year, and is set to come in to provide competition and depth to Tottenham’s attacking line.
You would expect that Pochettino will go for Kane on the opening day, but it is definitely worth keeping an eye on Janssen, as like Kane he definitely has an eye for a goal.
If Pochettino agrees that Kane needs an extended break; we may well see Janssen sooner rather than later, especially with a good pre-season under his belt.
