da 888: West Brom are nine games away from a return to the Premier League.
da casino: If the Baggies do make it back to the top-flight the first thing on a lot of people’s minds will be how they’re going to spend the hefty windfall they get from being promoted.
We’ve recently seen teams such as Fulham and Aston Villa spend in excess of £100m after coming up from the Championship, and while things haven’t quite worked out for them, the ambition was still there.
The Baggies could have been in real danger of repeating Fulham and Villa’s mistakes with Slaven Bilic at the helm, after all, a look at the Croatians transfer dealings doesn’t exactly fill us with confidence.

Andre Ayew was his record purchase and he has to be described as one of West Ham’s biggest flops in recent times, scoring nine goals in 43 games before being shipped back to Swansea after just a season and a half.
Chicharito didn’t hit the heights expected of him after just 15 goals in two seasons at the club, and we simply can’t knock the signings of Dimitri Payet and Marko Arnautovic.
However, two hits don’t justify a huge back catalogue of failures, and the further down the list you go the more obvious it becomes that Bilic can’t be trusted with sizeable fees.
Robert Snodgrass was pretty-much immediately loaned out to Aston Villa after Bilic left West Ham, Manuel Lanzini has been far too injury prone to justify his eight-figure fee and Jose Fonte was gone within 18 months of his arrival following just 24 appearances.
The list goes on, Simone Zaza, Nikica Jelavic and Jonathan Calleri have just two Hammers goals between them, while Edmilson Fernandes was another flop, starting just 17 games in two seasons.
Luckily, the Baggies have a safeguard against Bilic’s poor work in the transfer market in the shape of Luke Dowling. They’re very lucky to be operating in the way they do because otherwise, they could have seen their manager squander huge sums on mediocre players.
As it happens, Dowling acts as a safety blanket in the transfer market for the Baggies. As can be seen this season, he helped discover some gems in the form of Matheus Pereira who has gone on to score six times and claim 12 assists.
In other news, West Brom need more than just this 16-goal ace.
