da pinup bet:
da gbg bet: Robbie Keane has returned to Tottenham following a successful loan spell at Celtic, the Irishman scored an impressive 16 goals in 19 games and will now be looking to establish himself in Spurs’ first team again.
Keane who has now cost clubs a total of £75m for his services hasn’t had a great time since his return to the North London club. Following a miserable spell at Liverpool, Keane looked bereft of confidence and a shadow of his former self. But his impressive form for Celtic should have restored that self-belief and Keane will be raring to go next season and will want to prove the doubters wrong and show that he can still cut it at the top-level.
A talisman for his country, Keane has scored a phenomenal 41 goals in 97 games for the Republic of Ireland. Despite only spending just four months in the East end of Glasgow. Approaching 30, Keane still has a lot left to offer and if he can get back to his old levels then he will be terrorising defenses again in no time. A very underated player, Keane has played like a footballing magician on the pitch at times producing pieces of skill that had the likes of Messi or Ronaldo performed, then people would be talking about non-stop.
Not only is he skillful but Keane is also a natural finisher without a superb eye for goal, his attibutes make him a complete forward and it would be a real shame to see his talent fizzle out.
Keane has clearly enjoyed his time at Celtic saying: “It’s been a strange season for the club. But this is something I have always wanted to do and I’ll never regret it. I have no regrets in football and I’ve loved my time here. From a personal point of view, I’ve scored a lot of goals and I’ll look back with a lot of fond memories.”
Without disrespecting the Scottish league, a player like Keane is far too good to be playing there. If he were to go back to Celtic then he would easily be the top-scorer every year he played there, in just four months he ended the season as the joint-5th top goal-scorer in the league and out-scored his team mates, with Fortune and Samaras both managing just 10 league goals each. Their return is simply embarrassing compared to what Keane managed to achieve in less than half the time at the club.
The competition for places upfront at Tottenham will be very difficult next season and Keane will probably find himself low-down in the pecking order behind Defoe, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko, Gudjohnsen (if signed permanently) and Spurs will probably sign another striker. It will be very tough for Keane to force his way into the reckoning again, but he definitely has the ability to do it and he will be back in pre-season full of confidence after his loan at Celtic.
