da gbg bet: With not long to go until the new season, Dagenham and Redbridge have been making several preparations in order to be ready for the new campaign that promises to be as tough if not tougher than ever for the club from Essex.
Abu Ogogo has been appointed captain at the age of 22. The former Arsenal youngster joined the Daggers in 2009 and has gone on to be one of the first names on the team sheet. No doubt a deserved appointment in most supporters eyes, he will be provide a crucial source of experience (despite his age) to an increasingly youthful team when they play their first competitive matches in the Capital One Cup against Coventry City followed by the inaugural league match of the 2012-13 season away to Cheltenham Town.

There have also been deals for first teamers Billy Bingham and Brian Woodall, and hot prospect Dwight Gayle who seems more than ready to feature in the first team.
Wins at Gresley and Dover for the first team have provided ideal preparation for the new season with August on the horizon. Well, if players hit form early and the club can hold on to them through the dreaded January transfer window don’t bet against a top half finish or even a play-off berth for John Still’s men.
