A Europa League club have made the first move to sign a “fantastic” Fulham player, viewing him as an important target for the summer transfer window, according to a report.
Fulham stars catching the eye
The Cottagers have been showing year-on-year improvements since returning to the Premier League, and this season has the potential to be their best yet, sitting eighth in the table with a third of the season left to play.
As such, it is little wonder some members of Marco Silva’s squad have started to attract attention ahead of the summer transfer window, with a recent report revealing a number of La Liga clubs are now queuing up to sign winger Adama Traore.
Antonee Robinson’s impressive form this season has previously caught the eye of Liverpool, while there was also interest in Andreas Pereira during the January window, with Palmeiras engaging in talks over a deal for the Brazilian.

Now, another first-team regular is being linked with a summer move away from Craven Cottage, with reports from Turkey revealing Fenerbahce have now made a move to sign Issa Diop (via Sport Witness).
The report does not reveal the exact nature of the move, but Diop is described as an important addition to Jose Mourinho’s side in the summer, indicating the Turkish side’s interest is serious.

A €20m (£17m) move could be on the cards at the end of the season, with Fenerbahce taking initial steps towards getting a deal done, but the Cottagers remain in a strong negotiating position, given that the defender remains under contract until the summer of 2027.
Diop falling down the pecking order at Craven Cottage
The Frenchman was a regular starter for Fulham before the turn of the year, but in 2025 he has started to play more of a bit-part role, featuring for a combined 48 minutes in the Premier League this year.
Calvin Bassey and Joachim Andersen have been the regular choices at centre-back, and with the Cottagers in resurgent form, having beaten Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest in back-to-back games, Diop may not be in line for a return to contention anytime soon.
The former West Ham United man has proven himself in England over the course of a number of years, previously being lauded as “fantastic” by David Gold, so it is clear to see why Fenerbahce are set to pursue a move.
If Diop continues to play a sporadic role between now and the end of the season, he could fancy a move to Turkey, and it may be worth Fulham cashing-in, if they are able to generate a decent fee of around £17m for a squad player.
