da marjack bet: According to reports in the Daily Mail, a £50m deal that will see Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose join Manchester United either in January or next summer is looking increasingly likely to happen.
What’s the word, then?
da betsson: Well, the Daily Mail says that Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is confident that Rose will become the club’s next first-choice left-back/left wing-back either in the New Year or at the end of the season.
While the Daily Mail says that Tottenham weren’t willing to sell the 27-year-old during the summer having already lost Kyle Walker to Manchester City, his future his firmly up in the air now following a controversial interview with The Sun in August and the fact that he was left out of the squad for the latest north London derby last month.
While the report adds that manager Mauricio Pochettino says he has no problems with the England international, it seems that the club may be willing to listen to offers for the Doncaster-born player.
How has Rose done this season?
Having only returned from a long-term knee injury in October, the 27-year-old has only made five appearances in all competitions.
While in the 2-1 win away at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last month, the England left-back will be disappointed with his lack of game time in the Premier League – he has made just two starts and featured for 180 minutes in the seven games he has been available for.
Can Tottenham get £50m for him?
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is known to be a tough negotiator – as we saw when Walker departed for Man City during the summer transfer window – and he will be unlikely to accept anything less than £50m for Rose if the club are to sell the 27-year-old.
The fact that is contract still has three-and-a-half years left to run on it certainly means that they are in a strong position, and they certainly won’t want to give one of their best players to a direct Premier League rival on the cheap.
Who could replace him?
While Ben Davies has done extremely well in Rose’s absence, it seems almost certain that Tottenham will move for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon if the Three Lions man does join United, with the highly-rated 17-year-old consistently impressing for the Championship outfit.
