da betcris: Leeds’ U23 side were in fine fettle on Monday evening as they demolished Bolton 5-1.
da bet esporte: Eddie Nketiah netted a brace as other first-team members Gjanni Alioski and Jack Clarke also got on the scoresheet.
But there was a goal for one of the least experienced members of the side – Robbie Gotts.
The young midfielder came off the bench and took his goal well as he added the Whites’ fourth strike on a freezing night in Lancashire. He latched onto Clarke’s through ball to fire home from close range.
Despite not starting the game, supporters took to Twitter to rave about his second-half cameo, one even comparing the 20-year-old to the great Dutchman, Johan Cruyff. Another noted his ability to play in a number 10 position.
With a variety of different players available to Marcelo Bielsa in that role, including Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich, it’ll be interesting to see where his future lies.
Other supporters commented on the influence of Bielsa and how the youngster could develop under the Argentine.
The 64-year-old recently spoke out about Gotts, claiming it wouldn’t be a surprise if he wanted to leave to develop elsewhere. Bielsa also felt guilty that he hadn’t had a proper chance to establish himself after appearing on the substitutes bench so regularly.
In light of this, one fan claimed he’d thought about penning a letter to the Leeds boss, voicing his frustration that Gotts hadn’t played yet.
Further comments were shared about his game time as one fan demanded that the youngster started on Saturday when Leeds take on Fulham. That might be going a bit too far but after the Whites’ midfield collapsed against Cardiff, surrendering a 3-0 lead, it’s probably a justifiable comment.
A true test for any Leeds fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
With a hectic festive schedule to look forward to, it may not be too surprising if Bielsa does finally call upon Gotts.
He has appeared 26 times on the bench but remarkably hasn’t earned a debut yet.
