da blaze casino: BeIN SPORTS presenter Richard Keys has offered his views on Everton caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson’s future following his decision to substitute Moise Kean on and off again in the second half against Manchester United on Sunday.
What did he say?
Well, the big Scot decided to bring the Italian striker on in the 70th minute of his team’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, but the 19-year-old was then taken off in the 88th minute to be replaced by Oumar Niasse.
Ferguson said post-match that he’d done it to waste time in the closing stages, but also suggested that the former Juventus man had failed to get up to the speed of the game – perhaps highlighted by the fact he committed three fouls, as per WhoScored.
Keys offered his view on the whole situation and what it could mean for the 47-year-old’s chances of getting the job on a longer-term basis.
He said on beIN SPORTS: “For me his interview was going very well. He was a little bit too expressive today with his emotions again but I think his interview went badly wrong there. That could be the end of his application.”

Is he right?
It’s a tough one because Ferguson has had such a positive start and had he done it to a more senior player such as Leighton Baines for example, there probably wouldn’t have been as much furore.
The fact is that he did it to a 19-year-old who is clearly yet to settle into English football properly following a summer move from his home country, and perhaps that could count against him.
Perhaps what was even worse about the situation was the fact that he didn’t offer some sort of olive branch to Kean at the time of the substitution, rather turning his back on the teenager as he trudged straight off down the tunnel.
You get the feeling that a Jurgen Klopp or a Pep Guardiola may well have hugged the player or explained their actions, but Ferguson did neither.
Did he play for Everton? Simple question but a lot tougher than you think…
His actions could be seen as a show of strength by the board – and perhaps one that was much needed given some of the Toffees’ poor displays this term – but they also need to think about how a substitution like that could affect the whole atmosphere within the squad.
Keys may just be right on this one, and perhaps we may now see an appointment at Everton before the weekend.
