da brwin: Leeds United midfielder Stuart Dallas is making positive progress in his recovery from injury but still has a long road ahead, according to journalist Graham Smyth.
The Lowdown: Dallas on the long road back
da pixbet: The Northern Irishman suffered a horror injury back in April, fracturing his femur after a tackle with Jack Grealish during a Premier League clash with Manchester City.
It was a cruel blow for a hugely popular player at Leeds and Dallas was immediately expected to miss many months of playing time for the Whites.
Now, a key update has been provided on the 31-year-old’s current situation, as he works his way back to the fold.
The Latest: Smyth gives positive update
Responding to a Whites fan in a Q&A for The Yorkshire Evening Post, Smyth said that Dallas has suffered no setbacks in his recovery which is a positive, but said there is still lots of work ahead of him:
“Everything we have been told of late has been positive, but that’s not to say he’s going to be back any time soon.”It’s a long, long recovery process that will take months yet for him to complete. The good news is that there have been no noises about complications or serious set-backs, which could easily have been the case with such a serious injury.”

The Verdict: Still a huge loss for Leeds
Dallas has been a big loss for Leeds, with the midfielder such a relentless and versatile player who is a manager’s dream, never giving less than 100 per cent in any position on the pitch – Alan Shearer has described him as ‘outstanding’ in the past, which is high praise indeed.
The main hope is that he is able to return the same player as he was before the injury, with the seriousness of it meaning that that may not always be the case.
Leeds fans certainly shouldn’t be expecting to see Dallas return to the team any time in the near future, but when the time comes that he makes it back onto the Elland Road turf, the reception he receives will be memorable.
