The Togo international has finally put pen-to-paper on a season long loan after being deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester City.
Falque joins from Serie A side Juventus and his move to White Hart Lane was announced shortly after Adebayor’s.
A statement on Spurs’ official website confirmed the deal saying: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Iago Falque on a season-long loan from Juventus.”
The 21-year-old will provide an extra option in midfield with Redknapp having to contend with a major injury crisis.
Injuries to Sandro, Steven Pienaar and unsettled Luka Modric have decimated Redknapp’s choices and Falque will certainly alleviate his selection dilemmas.
A relative unknown on English shores the Spanish under-21 international started his career at Barcelona before moving to Turin in 2008.
He’s spent the last two seasons out on loan at Bari and Villarreal and will now have a chance to make a name for himself in the Premier League.
He could make his debut against City on Sunday whilst Adebayor will have to wait another week as he can’t play against his parent club.
